Jorge Rivas, born on April 28, 1967, near San Miguel, El Salvador, was the sixth of eight children in a loving family. Raised on a farm in La Trinidad, he balanced school and chores, with his parents emphasizing the importance of education. During the Salvadoran Civil War in the 1980s, Jorge fled to the United States, where he was granted political asylum. He worked hard to become a naturalized American citizen, focusing on learning English and eventually earning a college degree.
Jorge Rivas worked his way up in the restaurant industry in southern Tucson, starting as a dishwasher and advancing to restaurant manager. At 29, he married Betty, and together they had three sons who later contributed to the family business. They began by selling Mexican food from a food truck in Catalina, Arizona, before opening Sammy’s Mexican Grill, serving dishes Jorge learned from his mother. Their business gained international attention when they publicly supported President Donald Trump, which led to death threats, racist attacks, and efforts by radicals to destroy their restaurant.
Jorge Rivas is a conservative family man who values God, family, and law and order. He has generously provided free meals to law enforcement officers and was among the first in Southern Arizona to offer free food to those affected by COVID-19. Driven by a strong sense of gratitude for the opportunity to be an American, Jorge believes in repaying his blessings by helping others in need within his community.
Jorge Rivas believes in core values that strengthen a nation, such as freedom of speech, the right to self-defense, the rule of law, and the importance of strong families. He advocates for freedom from government overreach, secure borders, low taxes to support businesses and families, and respect for religion and faith. According to Jorge, these principles are what make America great and will ensure its continued greatness.
Jorge Rivas is now being asked to run for Congress, with the goal of giving the people an active voice in Washington and reaffirming the values he believes in. He is seeking support for his campaign and encourages eligible voters to spread the word about his mission. Jorge aims to create positive change in communities by empowering citizens to be part of the movement.
